Headteacher’s Welcome

Our Value for Term 1 is PERSEVERANCE.

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

Our Value for Term 2 is TRUST.

"The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den.  And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God."

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Our Value for Term 3 is RESPECT.

"So, in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."

Our Value for Term 4 is FORGIVENESS.

"So watch yourselves. If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them.  Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying, "I repent," you must forgive them."

Our Value for Term 5 is FRIENDSHIP.

"My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.."

Our Value for Term 6 is Thankfulness.

"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

Welcome to our school. We are a caring school and committed to the highest possible standards of learning and teaching. We gain strength from living out our Christian Vision enabling children, staff and our community to develop a love of learning, a spirit of enquiry and a determination to be successful. We promote active learning through our creative curriculum and a passion of reading for enjoyment. We want every child to flourish, be happy and feel safe. We develop the whole child by providing opportunities for children to find their passions, explore learning in its fullness and care for each other and our world.

Our school is set in idyllic grounds and is proud of its links with the local and wider community. We have a woodland, a science dome and outdoor classroom; outdoor learning and Forest School activities are part of daily life at Fairford. We provide wrap around care each day with a school run Breakfast Club (07:45 – 08:30) and After School Club (15:00 – 17:30 Mon-Fri. In the school Holidays Atlas Camps provide Holiday Club Day Care.

We offer a wide range of After School Clubs including lots of sport, cooking, choir, art, science, dance, design technology, Lego, Knex and Bookclub (some clubs are held during lunchtimes). Children have the opportunity to become Science Ambassadors, Reading Ambassadors, Sports Leaders and in Year 6 Sports Captains and Head Boy and Girl. We have a school communication team where all classes have a voice; most recently holding a competition to design a new school badge!

At Fairford we have an experienced team of teachers and HLTAs and TAs. Many of our teaching team are National and Local Leads in their subjects. Our Maths Leader is a Primary Mastery Specialist and Professional Development Lead with the NCETM/GLOW Maths Hub Primary Science Teaching Trust Fellow, also Lead Legacy OGDEN Trust Cluster School and current STEM Enthuse Lead School; Our English Lead works closely with Cheltenham Literature Festivals and runs an independent Reading Teachers=Reading Pupils group for teachers across the locality; Our Sports Leader is part of South Cotswolds PE teaching Hub and school holds the Sainsbury’s Platinum Award; our school has a Green Flag Award and Gloucestershire Healthy Living and Learning Award. In addition our school is progressing towards the Artsmark Award and has recently achieved the RE Bronze Award.

I am extremely proud to be Headteacher at Fairford and believe it is an immense privilege. In addition to being Headteacher at Fairford, I am also Chair of the South Cotswold School Partnership with 20 local schools and Co-Chair of Gloucestershire Association of Primary Headteachers with nearly 300 primary schools across Gloucestershire. Being part of these 2 groups, enables partnership working to be strong across all our schools.

Our school achieved Outstanding in its last SIAMS inspection in 2023 and Outstanding in its last OFSTED in November 2024. Since each of these judgements, we have continued to develop and grow ensuring we are able to provide the best for our children and school community.

I hope you enjoy exploring our website. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about our school.

I look forward to welcoming you to our school.
