School Lunches
Hot meals are available every day, freshly cooked on site by our school meals contractor, Dolce. Payment is made directly to Dolce via School Grid.
Alternatively, children may bring a packed lunch. Families receiving family income support are entitled to apply for free school meals. Pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils a free school meal. This is in addition to the free school meals service offered to parents in receipt of qualifying benefits. More information is given on the FSM registration form on the Free School Meal link. Fairford Primary has Healthy School Plus status and the Food for Life Silver Award. We encourage healthy eating and fizzy drinks, chocolate or confectionery are not allowed. As some of our children also have a nut allergy we have a NO NUT policy in school. Should a child be found to have an item in their lunchbox that does not conform with our standards it will be removed and a note to that effect will be sent home.
We encourage children to bring an item of fresh fruit or vegetables for a morning break time snack. Pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are provided with free fruit under the government’s ‘School Fruit and Vegetables’ scheme. Children under 5 years of age are entitled to free milk if parents complete an application form. Over 5’s may purchase 1/3rd pint of milk. Register at www.coolmilk.com
Please note: a number of our children has allergies to certain foods including nuts. If you are sending in your child with a packed lunch please ensure it does not contain any nuts, seeds or chocolate in any form. This includes cereal bars and nut butters. Our caterer is able to provide meals that take into account a certain range of food allergies. Just complete the required information about your child when you register with Dolce.
