Art

At Fairford C of E Primary we believe our Art curriculum should inspire and captivate pupils’ creativity and imagination. We believe art should be broad and rich, contemporary and diverse embedding art, culture and creativity across the whole curriculum. We aim to make our art curriculum as inclusive and accessible to every child by keeping our understanding of discipline areas such as drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture as open as possible. Children have the opportunities to express their own unique personality through beautiful art work which is celebrated across the school. At Fairford, we hope all children can express their ideas, gain confidence, promote feelings of self-worth and develop their creativity and imagination through art.

Artsmark is also a focus for each class at Fairford. Each term, we have a different creative focus and classes create a range of pieces of art inspired by this word. In previous years, we have seen a variety of artwork being produced, from dances, to paintings and to baking. We were recently awarded the Artsmark Gold Award in recognition for the work created by the children across the whole school.
